Agriculture Overview

Change Needed
With the increase in world population, the demand for food in India and China, as well as an accelerated interest in feedstocks and biofuel production, a change toward more sustainable biological farming methods are being adopted by farmers. Worldwide fertilizer costs over the past four years have increased more than 400% and farmers may be finding themselves relying less on synthetic chemicals to grow crops.
Nitrogen (urea) and monoammonium phosphate (MAP) combined costs per acre now exceed $100, and farmers are turning to mycorrhizal inoculation as a great solution (about $10 to $15/acre) to more efficiently use fertilizers in their soils. Farmers are finding that they can reduce their fertilizer and water costs up to 30% and increase their yields by inoculating with MycoApply® mycorrhizae.
